About New York Power Authority's Frank S. Mc Cullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center & Boat Launch

The area around the St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project is unofficially known as the United States' Fourth Coast for its miles of waterfront. And no visit is complete without a stop at the New York Power Authority's Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch. This admission-free facility offers panoramic views of NYPA's St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project plus a 14,000-square-foot state-of-the-art visitors center as well as an improved boat launch ramp and a handicapped-accessible fishing pier.

The New York Power Authority invites you to sit back and enjoy a 25-minute movie on the building of the St. Lawrence-FDR Project shown hourly in the visitors center's auditorium; savor the scenic view of the power project and the surrounding grounds from the visitors center's wrap-around deck; or allow the visitors center's tour guides to personally explain how electricity is made at the power project through the use of various interactive exhibits.

NYPA's visitors center is intended to serve as a community resource and is available to local organizations for meetings and special events.
